DREAMINBLUE - Silks Overnight Stakes - 1st Running
$135,000 Silks Overnight Stakes
HOT SPRINGS, AR – After stalking a quick early pace, Randy Patterson, Sam M. Vogel and Joe Morgan’s Dreaminblue made a three-wide move approaching the quarter pole to assume command before drawing off down the lane to win Friday’s $135,000 Silks Overnight Stakes at Oaklawn by three lengths.
Run for the first time Friday, the six-furlong Silks Overnight Stakes was restricted to 3-year-olds that had yet to win an open stakes race.
Trained by Randy Morse and ridden by Rafael Bejarano, Dreaminblue stopped the clock in 1:09.10, the quickest of the first four days of the 2025-2026 Oaklawn season. The gelded son of Street Boss collected $74,925 for his second victory in 11 starts to improve his career earnings to $252,527.
Sent off at odds of 5-1, Dreaminblue returned $12.80 to win. Early pacesetter Amorosa held on for second and it was another 2 ¼-lengths back to 5-2 favorite Kalahari Dreams. Faust, Hymn, Sharp Swinger, Divine Justice and Amoudi Bay completed the order of finish. U Devil You was scratched Friday morning.
The “Holiday” portion of the Oaklawn season continues Saturday with another 10-race card, featuring the $150,000 Tinsel Stakes for older route horses and a carryover of $110,126.58 in the Classix Pick 6 encompassing the final six races on the card. First race post time is 12:30 p.m. CST.
