Types of Bets in Horse Racing

• Win

  Your horse must finish first.

• Place

  Your horse must finish first or second.

• Show

  Your horse must finish first, second or third.

• Across the Board

  You make three equal bets on a horse to win, place and show

  • If your horse wins: you collect on all 3 wagers (win, place, show).
  • If your horse comes in 2nd, you collect on the place and show bets.
  • If your horse comes in 3rd, you collect on the show bet.

  For example: "$2 Across the Board on 1" simply means $2 to win on #1, $2 to place on #1 and $2 to show on #1, a wager that will cost you $6 total.

• Exacta

  Pick two horses in the same race. Your horses must finish 1st and 2nd in the exact order.

• Trifecta

  Pick three horses in the same race. Your horses must finish 1st, 2nd and 3rd in the exact order.

• Superfecta

  Pick four horses in the same race. Your horses must finish 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th in the exact order.

• Daily Double

  Pick one horse in two races. Your horses must finish 1st in each of the two races that comprise the Daily Double.

  *For Daily Double wagers must be placed before the first race on the ticket has started.

• Pick 3

  Pick one horse in three races. Your horses must finish 1st in each of the three races that comprise the Pick 3.

  *For Pick 3 wagers must be placed before the first race on the ticket has started.

• Pick 4

  Pick one horse in four races. Your horses must finish 1st in each of the four races that comprise the Pick 4.

  *For Pick 4 wagers must be placed before the first race on the ticket has started.

• Pick 5

  Pick one horse in five races. Your horses must finish 1st in each of the four races that comprise the Pick 5.

  *For Pick 5 wagers must be placed before the first race on the ticket has started.
