The Oaklawn Foundation receives continuing funding of over $1.5 million each year as a result of an agreement that Oaklawn voluntarily made with the city. The Foundation utilizes the revenue generated from the Gaming Center to support programs and scholarships that benefit Garland County students and senior citizens, including the construction of the Center on Aging in collaboration with the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences and the Donald W. Reynolds Foundation. The Oaklawn Senior Health Care Center was established in 2009 as the eighth Center on Aging and is the fulfillment of a promise made in 2005 by the family of Charles Cella, the third-generation owner of Oaklawn.
